Once in a lifetime shot!

Pete and I were heading up the coast to take meet up with some of the crew from Australian Photography and decided to leave a bit earlier ( 2:30am) and get some star trails over the shipwreck on Dickies beach.

We headed down onto the very spooky beach at around 4am and started setting up.  As it was pitch black, I took a test shot with the flash on at iso 1600 to make sure I had the wreck in frame.  I couldn't believe it when a meteor fell right in front of my eyes just after I had opened the shutter.  This shot couldn't have been set up better if I had tried!

And here is what we were there to shoot, far less impressive than the meteor shot,  Next time we will be taking a compass to find the Celestial pole.  Notice the shooting star half way down on the left

Point Arkwright

I went out to Point Arkwright , and was happy to find a very photogenic rock fisherman.  He even stood still enough for me to get an HDR bracket!

We stopped on the way home for a look at Whitehorse Mountain which was almost worth the 700m hike up the hill!

Shorncliffe

I took a trip out to Shorncliffe with some of the crew from the Australian Photography forum and was greted with clear skies which means a boring sunrise, so I decided to do something a little differant and get away from the pier to have a play with HDR.

Real Life

I love taking photos of landscapes but I think there is something missing.  I did a family shoot for some relatives who have recently had a baby.  There is Photographing people is definately more of a challenge but something i hope to do a lot more of in the future.

We couldn't get baby Caden to smile all day, except for this photo with Uncle Brad

Brisbane By Night

I went for a walk around Brisbane and took some for the obligatory shots for any local photography enthusiast.

The Start

As if I didn't already have enough hobbies to use up all my time and money, and get me out of bed at ridiculous hours... I have recently become obsessed with Photography and decided it was time to start a blog and show off some of my shots because otherwise... What's the point of leaving home at 2:30 in the morning?

I will start with one of my first shoots since I worked out there was more to the camera than the auto mode.  These shots were taken at Nudgee Beach QLD.
